ACCIDENTS

TRAIN AND TRUCK COLLIDE THREE MEN INJURED NEAR WANGANUI (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. March 9. A truck driver and two passengers were injured when their vehicle and the Auckland-Opua express collided on a level crossing near Taikirau, about 29 miles north of Whangarei, at 3.30 p.m. today. The injured men are; Mr George Lawton. aged 49, of Whangarei, driver of the truck; Mr Jock Garden, aged 27. of Whangarei, and Mr Atu Campbell, aged 25. of Towai, both passengers in the truck. Their condition was reported to be satisfactory late last evening.

DUMP TRUCK OVERTURNS IN QUARRY (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 9. Admitted to the Whangarei Public Hospital today with serious head injuries, a quarry man died later. He was: Mr Len Dobbs, aged 27. married, of Hokianga. . Mr Dobbs was driving a dump truck m a Whangarei quarry when the truck overturned.
