VISITOR RETURNS FROM SYDNEY
22 DAYS TO WATCH CHAMPIONSHIPS (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 5. After 22 days in Sydney to watch the Inter-Dominion Trotting Championships, Mr O. Hutchinson, cf Christchurch, returned to New Zealand in the Monowai this morning, with disappointment. The championships, postponed three times because of torrential rains, had still to be run, said Mr Hutchinson. “The weather was shocking. We arrived on February 18 and 12.14 in of rain fell in the next 36 hours, ior the next 22 days we had only one without rain,” he said. Standard travelling wear for Sydney office workers was bare feet, a raincoat, and umbrella, said Mr E. Barker, of Wellington, another passenger.
