SUB-CENTRE OF RED CROSS
OPAWA-ST. MARTINS MEETING In her annual report to the annual meeting of the Opawa-St. Martins sub-centre of the Red Cross Society, the president (Mrs J. Nelham Watson) said that £ll7 had been raised during the year by the sub-centre towards the new Red Cross building in Cashel street. Members had helped with the Good Neighbour scheme. They had helped to prepare vegetables, and at least one member a week was sent to deliver dinner’s. They had also helped as drivers, she said. During the year the sub-centre had lost through death, Mrs A. H. Forbes, who was its first president; Mrs M. L. Taylor, Mrs A. Hunnibell, and Miss Daisy Harman. Officers elected were: president, Mrs J Nelham Watson; vice-president, Mrs K. Kynydon, Mrs G. Patton, and Mrs W. G. Taylor; secretary, Mrs F. Rhodes; treasurer, Mrs F. H. Polhill: assistant treasurer, Mrs G. C. Harper; committee, Mesdames T. L. Carey, F. H. Dephoff. C. Ferguson. P. Hollander. R. Jardin, H. E. Leech. O. Milter, Rose. H. Smith, K. White, K. Whitlow, and Miss Bowron.
