CHURCH CHOIRS

Sir, —When people are led to attend church services to serve God, their spiritual devotion to that end is obvious. Why not dispense with church choirs and, let the congregation sing praises to the Creator of Heaven and earth? This practising, of church choirs and soloists, could most constructively be diverted to the congregation, who. as a rule (as in other Christian countries) sit back and leave the choir and soloists to entertain them. What is the main purpose of the Church?—Yours, etc., QUESTION MARK. February 17, 1956.
