CHOLMONDELEY HOME

MANY CHILDREN BENEFIT FROM HOLIDAY Many children enjoyed a holiday at the Cholmondeley Memorial Children’s Home, Governor’s Bay, during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday, and the home’s accommodation was taxed to capacity. At the monthly meeting of the home committee, at which Mrs R. L. Jacobsen presided, it was reported that many letters had been received from grateful parents who were pleased with the progress their children had made during their stay at the home. The committee expressed thanks to firms and friends who had supplied gifts and goods to make Christmas a memorable one for the children. All children who enter the home must have a doctor’s certificate to state that they need a period of convalescence there, or that their mother is ill or in hospital, and other arrangements cannot .be made for their care. Many emegency calls were received from doctors during the holiday period. Cholmondeley Home will be closed for one month from January 27, it was announced at the meeting, to enable the staff to have its annual holiday, and to enable the committee to have the home cleaned and renovated.
