COURT TO DECIDE RECTOR’S POST
• Rec. 11 p.m.) NEW YORK, Jan. 20. The Rev. William H. Melish retained temporary control of his Brooklyn parish today until the split in his congregation is reviewed in court. Trial was set for February 3 before the State Supreme Court Referee, Mr «>ohn Mac Crate. who will decide whether Mr Melish continues or is re- ‘ r * b” another rector at Holy Trinity Protestant Episcopal Church. Meanwhile, the anti-Melish forces agreed not to attempt services with a substitute rector as they did last Sunday. The substitute rector withdrew after he and Mr Melish conducted competitive services for a time.
