NORFOLK ISLAND CABLE

N.Z. EXPERTS TO MAKE REPAIRS (New Zealand Press Association) __ AUCKLAND, January 9. New Zealand cable experts will sail for Norfolk Island in the Matai on January 18 to repair a break in.the Suva-Norfolk cable. The cable was snapped about five miles north of Norhflk by a tropical storm on December u j ? ince , then, Norfolk Islanders have had to rely on Auckland and Queensland circuits to communicate ’with Suva.

Mr H. J. Fox. an engineer, and three cable specialists, will fly from Auckland to Wellington next Monday to join the Matai and prepare for the voyage. They expect to be away from Auckland for about three weeks.
