COMPARISON OF CHARGES
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 9. Surprise is expressed by executive members of the New Zealand Travel and Holidays Association at a statement by Mr John Hogan, a Welling'ton businessman, just back from a world tour, that hotel accommodation Zealand is more expensive than equivalent accommodation in America.
That, they state, was not the experience of members also recently returned from overseas. The lowest tariff in a medium to good American hotel was five dollars for a single room, or 36s 3d.

They said that hotel rates in New Zealand were, on comparable standards, nearly the lowest in the world. They considered the American plan of making fixed charges for rooms only W3s well worth consideration here.
