TRIBUNAL APPROVES PRICE RISES

WELLINGTON. January 5.

The Price Tribunal has approved increases in the prices of car and truck tyres.

Although the new price order has not yet been published, it is learned in Wellington that manufacturers, from today, have made a 5 per cent, increase in the wholesale prices of truck tyres, and a 34 per cent, increase m car tyres.

No official comment was available this evening, but it is understood that tne retail prices will rise proportionately, and will be increased from Monday. The increases apply to motor-cycle as well as car tyres and tubes, including tubeless tyres. Truck and bus tyres, including special types, are affected, but tractor tyres are not.
