100th BIRTHDAY TODAY

MR WILLIAM WEEKS, OF AUCKLAND

(New Zealand Press Association)

AUCKLAND, January 5.

Mr William Weeks, of Ex'mouth street, Northcote, Auckland, will celebrate his one hundredth birthday tomorrow.

“I’ve got to be as fit as a fiddle for that,” he said today. Mr Weeks is a complete contradiction of the picture conjured up when people say they do not want to live to be 100. He is alert, holds himself erect, and his features are firm and almost unlined. His hearing and sight are failing, but his brain is quick and his memory accurate.

His children. Mr John Weeks, a wellknown painter, and Miss Mary Weeks, will be at tomorrows party.
