TOKYO. January 4. "Tokyo Rose.” who escaped a death sentence but who was imprisoned for her World War II broadcasts on behalf of the Japanese, will be released on January 28. the United States Justice Department has announced. Iva Toguri d'Aquino, otherwise "Tokyo Rose.” began serving her 10year sentence in the Federal Reformatory for Women at Alderson. West Virginia. on October 6. 1949. She is being i eleased early because of good behaviour.
