New Air Service In Pacific
(Rec. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK, Jan. 3. Pan American World Airways today announced that it would inaugurate on January 24 a monthly service from the west coast and Honolulu to Pago Pago, in American Samoa.
It said that passengers on its regular South Pacific flights would connect for Samoa at Nandi. Fiji. The new service from Nandi to.Tafuna, the airport for Pago Pago, for the time being would apply only for through travel from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland. Seattle and Honolulu.
The four and a half hour flight would be made in DC-4 planes carrying both first-class and tourist passengers, the airline said. \
