MOTOR SHOW AT DUNEDIN

60 MAKES TO BE ON DISPLAY (New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, November 23. A New Zealand international motor show • is to be held in Dunedin on January 25, 26, 27, and 28, as a prelude to Festival Week. The latest in English, American, German, French, Italian, and Australian cars will be on display. Dunedin’s drill hall has been made available for the exhibition, which will be modelled on the lines of England’s Earl’s Court motor show. About 60 new cars, representing the entire range of motor vehicles on the New Zealand market, will be exhibited. The allocation of the drill hall’s 23,000 square feet of floor space will not be made on a competitive basis. Each make of car will be provided with a uniform area for its stand. The Governor-General (Sir Willoughby Norrie), will arrive in Dunedin on January 25, and it is hoped that he will officially open Otago’s first international motor show, and what is thought to be the first show of this magnitude held in New Zealand for 20 years. Some of the profits will be distributed to charity and motor sporting bodies, and some will be retained to help in arranging further international car shows.
