SUMMER RAILWAY EXCURSIONS
day trips commence ON SUNDAY
The regular summer excursion trips operated by the New Zealand Rail ways from Christchurch will commence next Sunday when a special train will travel to Kaikoura. stopping at Oaro and Goose Bay. The train will have 10 carriages, and it is estimated that about 500 persons will make the trip. Excursion trains will be run from Christchurch every Sunday until Eastei to Timaru, Kaikoura and Otira al tentatively. Further excursions with overnight stops are planned to Queenstown and the Fox Glacier in the New Year. It is also hoped to run a special excursion along the West Coast roan from Grey mouth to Westport ano through the Buller Gorge. If thh trip materialises ample opportunity will be given for passengers to view the site of the recent discoveries oi Lranium-bearing rock in the Bullei Gorge.
