VISIT TO JAPAN

MR HOLLAND RECEIVES RENEWED INVITATION (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 19. An invitation to the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) to visit Japan “in the not too distant future” has been sent to Mr Holland by the Prime Minister of Japan (Mr Ichiro Hatoyama). Mr Holland has replied to Mr Hatoyama telling him that his invitation last year for Mr Holland to go to Japan “is still very much in my mind, and I hope I may be able to accept it soon and have the pleasure visiting Japan.” Mr Holland added that he could not at present say when the visit could take place. The renewed invitation was brought to New Zealand by the Japanese Welfare Minister (Mr Hadeji Kawasaki), who met the Prime Minister and other Ministers at luncheon yesterday. Mr Kawasaki handed to Mr Holland a gift from Mr Hatoyama, of a cloisonne cigarette case and ash tray.
