SOUTH MALVERN SCHOOL CROSS-COUNTRY RUN

Graham Mason, the front marker, made good use of his handicap to hold the lead over the flat when the South Malvern School held its annual one mile crosscountry run recently. Allan Weastell (2t>sec) gained on the whole field on the fl-t, continued to gain ground on the hill, and moved from fifth to second plpc-e in the last quarter mile. The two back markers. A. Geddis (15sec) and R. M?%n (scr), ran steadily, but could not hold Weastell on the hill. G. Mason, with a determined finish, just managed to stave off Weastell’s challenge. ReSuHs:—

G. (lmin 30sec). 1: A. Weastell f2Dsec). 2: D. Mason (Imin), 3. Fastest Weastell. 6min 50sec. 1; Geddis. 7mm in«ec. 2: R. Mason. 7min 18sec. 3.
