Chinese Children Drowned.— Police and volunteer rescuers have recovered the bodies of at least 16 Chinese children who had been picnicking at Taipo in Hong Kong’s new territories near the Communist border after flood water had inundated the tiny, picturesque valley. Government officials said they believed that there was a cloudburst or that a catchment dam had burst.—Hong Kong, Aug. 28.
