WATER SUPPLY CONNEXIONS

CITY COUNCIL KEPT BUSY

The City Council continues to receive a steady stream of applications for water connexions, particularly from “new” areas. The works committee reported last evening that some of the staff had had to be employed on Saturdays to get the work done, but Saturday work would have to be eliminated if the wage vote was not to be heavily overspent. It might be necessary to interrupt mainlaying from time to time so that onnexions could be installed during •rdinary working hours.
