Delay In Sudan Surrender

(Rec. 8 p.m.) KHARTOUM, Aug. 29< The surrender of Southern Sudan Army mutineers has been held up by heavy rain. The downpour damaged the mutineers’ radio and delayed the arrival of their representative at Juba, the capital of Southern Equatoria Province, to submit to the representatives of the Governor-General, Sir Knox Helm, and the Sudan Government. The mutineers’ representative was expected at Juba at 8 p.m. last night, but details of the surrender were not expected to reach Khartoum until later today.
