The name of SIR HUGH ACLAND (above), honorary surgeon to the Christchurch Hospital from 1904 to 1929, and a member of the North Canterbury Hospital Board for 21 years up to 1948, will be perpetuated in an annual prize to be associated with some distinction in surgical nursing at the Christchurch Hospital. Dr. A. D. Nelson, a former medical superintendent, and his family have given £100 to create a fund for the annual prize.
