Operation on Trout

Harvey, the two-toned trout at Taniwha Springs, Rotorua, had an operation last week and is doing well. A few days previously the owner of the springs, Mr Cecil Burton, noticed that the fish was having difficulty in maintaining correct balance while swimming. Harvey’s tail was rising in the water, and sometimes breaking the surface. The operation corrected this affliction. Mr Burton is very relieved by the success of the operation. If Harvey’s illness had not been attended to he could have died within a few days. Harvey is insured for £lOO, but Mr Burton says he would much rather have him alive than dead.—(P.S.S.)
