ICE HOCKEY

LAKE IDA SHIELD MATCHES Two ice hockey matches were played at Lake Ida for the Lake Ida shield. The ice, although firm for the first match, became soft towards the end of the second game and cut up easily. The matches resulted Canterbury 4, Centaurus 1; Windwhistle 5. Mt. Hutt 4. A game between the victors was called off because of the condition of the ice.
