JET AIRCRAFT FOR JAPAN
AGREEMENT WITH UNITED STATES (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) TOKYO. June 19. The United States would sign an agreement soon for the production of modern military aeroplanes in Japanese aircraft factories, informed sources told the United Press today. The plans called for the Mitsubishi Heavy Industry and the Kawaski Aircraft Company to manufacture F-86-F Sabre jets and T-33 iet trainers to arm Japan’s air defence system. The first T-33’s were expected to come off the production lines next spring and the Sabre jets by 1957.
