LICENSEE FINED £5 On a charge of selling liquor after hours, Edward George Bruhns, licensee of the Pier Hotel, Kaikoura, was convicted and fined £5 in the Magistrate’s Court. Kaikoura, before Mr L. N. Ritchie, S.M. t For being found on licensed premises after hours Harold Hillary Wade and Allan Brian Boyd were each convicted and fined £l. Thomas Anthony Mackie was convicted and fined £1 on a charge of being pn licensed premises under 21 years of age, and fined £1 on a further Charge of purchasing intoxicating liquor. Traffic Cases For breaches of the traffic regulations penalties were imposed as follows: — Allowing stock to wander on roads: William Joseph Harnett and Isaac Francis Sweeney, each fined £2. Parking in prohibited area: John Edward Goold and David Barrie Young, each fined £l. Riding unlighted bicycle: Patrick Poharama and-Norman Walter Jacobson, each fined £1; and for having no tail light on bicycles, each were fined 10s. Failing to dip headlight: Dymoke Clunies-Ross, fined £3. I T~ :ceeding speed limit: Jack Graham ll' "nilton, fined £3. Exceeding speed limit in restricted area: Alistair George Lyon, fined £3; Daphne Wanda Harley, fined £2. Exceeding 40 miles an hour on a motor-cycle with pillion passenger: Robert William Ashley, fined £3; aiding and abetting: Reginald Harold Davies, fined £2. Insufficient lights: Paul Harnett, fined £2. Wrong class of driver’s licence: James Richard Goodman, fined £2. Failing to give way to the right: Vera Emily Mary Gregory, convicted and discharged. Carrying pillion passenger while under learner-rider conditions: Brian Edward Mitchell, fined £2. Exceeding 35 miles per hour with trailer: Russell Fazakerley Parker, fined £2; Darcy Bertram Christopher, fined £3. Failing to keep to the Ronald Stuart Smith and John David Hewlett, each fined £2. No warrant of fitness: Darcy Edward Dineen, and Clifford Maxwell O’Connor, each fined £1; Edward Sharplin, fined 10s.
