H a EREBY GIVEN that the Eighty-third Annual General Meeting of the Company will be held at 8, Moorgate L ° nd ° n ’ on Thursday, the 7th dav of July, 1955, at 12.30 p.m. Notice is also given that the following Resolution will be proposed as an Ordinary Resolution, namely:— That upon the recommendation of the Directors—(a) the sum of £400,000, being part of the sum standing to the credit of General Reserve, be capitalised and that such sum be appropriated as capital to and among the holders on this day of the 800,000 Shares of £7 10s each in the capital of the Bank now issued on which the sum of £2 10s per share has been paid up in proportion to the number of such Shares so held by them respectively and that the Directors be and they are hereby authorised and directed to apply such sum on behalf of such shareholders in paying up a further 10s, per Share of the amount now unpaid on the Shares so held by them respectively; and (b) forthwith Upon the said sum being so applied each of the said 800,000 issued Shares of £7 10s each, which will then be paid up to the extent of £3 per Share, be subdivided into 3 Shares of £2 10s each paid up to the extent of £1 per Share. Notice is also given that a Resolution of which special notice has been received by the Company, will be moved for the re-election of Sir Sydney Parkes, C.8.E., who attained the age of 70 years on the 23rd February, 1949.
