AVONSIDE SCHOOL HALL

TENDERS RECEIVED Some tenders had been received for building a new assembly hall at the Avonside Girls’ High School,-said the Minister of Education (Mr R. »■ Algie) in an address at the school yesterday. . . . Mr Algie said that the tenders had gone to Wellington on Friday night, and as soon as the ceremony at which he spoke ended, he would ask his secretary to telephone Wellington to see whether they had been opened. Some contractors thought that the hall could be built in from six to nine months. “I hope we will see an assembly hall here that will be a proper addition to this great school,” he said.
