SIX VEHICLES IN ACCIDENT
SERIOUS TRAFFIC JAMS NEAR WELLINGTON (Kew Zealand Freu Association/ WELLINGTON, June 7.. ■ For an hour and a half last night traffic was held in a mile-and-a-halt jam between McKay’s Crossing and Raumati, and in a shorter hold-up nearer Wellington, because of an accident involving two buses and four cars. No-one was injured although some of the vehicles involved were badly da TraSflc ’ officers said that during a minor southward-bound traffic block, a bus hit another stationary bqs in front. The front of the following bus was stove in, its lights were put out of action and there was othei substantial damage, but the 20 passengers and driver were not injured. % x _ The hext three cars stopped .clear of the bus, but a fourth car skidded, hit the sides of two cars ahqkd and bounced off to hit another car on the north-bound lane. , There the car wedged, and the narrow roadway was completely blocked until traffic officers cleared the double jam after 'the damaged vehicles had been moved.
