NEIGHBOURS STOP FIRE
Nearby residents quickly put out a fire on a property at 76 Burwood road last evening before it had a chance to. gain a hold. The outbreak, about 8.10 p.m., was in a garage on the property being used as a temporary dwelling by Mr Noel Frith while he is building a house there- Mr Frith was not there at the time.
When units from the Christchurch Central and St. Albans Brigades arrived they found the fire almost out. There was slight damage to an external wall, the interior of the building and its contents.
