GIRL OF 11 KILLED
BROTHERS SERIOUSLY INJURED (New Zealand Press Association) TIMARU, June 6. An 11-year-old girl was killed instantly and her two brothers were seriously injured when they were struck by a motor-car while riding their bicycles along the State highway at Andrewville, Temuka, about 10.50 o’clock tonight. The girl killed was Patsy Morland, daughter of TVtr and Mrs G. Morland, 362 Main North road, Temuka. Her brothers, Neil and John, whose ages could not be ascertained, were brought to the Timaru Public Hospital in a St. John ambulance.
TWO MOTOR CYCLISTS COLLIDE ONE DIES OF INJURIES (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 6. Two motor-cyclists were injured, one fatally, in a collision near Ngatea at 5.5 G p.m. yesterday. The rider who was killed was: Raymond Noel Enuns, aged 22, married, a mechanic, of Ngatea. Kawa Edwards, aged 22, married, a motor-driver, of Mangatangi, suffered a broken left leg, injuries to a hand, and facial abrasions. He was reported to be in a satisfactory condition in the Thames Public Hospital tonight.
TWO INJURED WHEN CARS COLLIDE
Two persons were injured when two cars collided at the corner of Ohoka road and Peraki street, Kuiapoi, at 7.35 p.m. yesterday. They are Samuel Arthur Harris, of West belt, Rangiora, who was the driver and only occupant of one car. and' Brian Gardner, aged 12, of Gardner’s Estate, Scargill, a passenger in the other. e The car in which Gardner was travelling was driven by Mr Eric Raymond Goodman, of Scargill. There were three other small children in the vehicle, which overturned after the collision, and came to rest against a power pole. Both , cars were extensively damaged. The two injured persons were taken to the/Christchurch Public Hospital by a St. John ambulance. The condition of both late last evening was reported to be satisfactory. CYCLIST INJURED A cyclist suffered injuries to his face and chest when he fell from his cycle in Strowan road, Bryndwr, at 6.26 p.m. yesterday. He is Mr Brian Hart, of 145 Strickland street, Spreydon. He was taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital by a St. John ambulance and admitted. His condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory. CAR LEAVES ROAD Two adults and two children had a lucky escape from injury \yhen the car in which they were travelling left the Summit road near Mount Pleasant and rolled three chains down the hillside at 5.15 p.m. yesterday. They are Mr and Mrs Gordon Jones and their two children, Dennis and Kelvin, who live at 306 Ham road. They were taken to the Christchurch Public Hospital by a St. John ambulance, but were sent home.
