WOMAN KILLED
CAR CRASHES INTO POLE FIVE OTHERS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL (New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL, June 6. One woman was killed and five other persons injured when the car in which they were travelling towards Invercargill crashed into a telegraph pole on the side of the Bluff highway late tonight. Two traffic officers were pursuing the car at the time, although the driver was not aware of this. The dead woman is: Mrs L- Tau, aged about 70, of Brown’s. The other five persons were admitted to hospital with abrasions and shock, but their conditions are fair to satisfactory.
