RUSSIAN’S 400-METRE MEDLEY RECORD (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MOSCOW, June 1. The Moscow swimmer, Vladimir Struyanov, recorded 5 min 9.ssec in a 400 metres individual medley, beating his time of 9min 15.4 sec, set last October. The Soviet News Agency. Tass, reported this today. His October time still awaits ratification as a world record. The official record, smin 18.3 sec, was established by the East German, Alfred Spengler, at Dresden, in February. 1954.
