RESCUE FROM HOUSE FIRE
MOTHER SAVES CHILDREN (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 2. When fire enveloped the kitchen of his parents’ home in Kimpton road, Papatoetoe, yesterday afternoon, three-and-a-half-year-old Geoffrey Wilks led his two-year-old sister, Janice, into the bedroom, got under the bed with her, and wrapped his arms about her. The children were under the bed clinging together when thejr mother rushed into the house five minutes after leaving them alone in the kitchen, while She went to her parents’ home next door.
