APPRENTICESHIPS IN WOOLLEN MILLS

APPLICATION FOR ORDER ADJOURNED (New Zealand Press Association) . WELLINGTON, May 27. The hearing of an application for an apprenticeship order in the woollen and hosiery mechanical industry was adjourned sine die by the Court of Arbitration today, to enable the parties to confer on the problems involved. Either side will have the right to bring up the matter again after three months. The application was made by the New Zealand Federated Woollen Mills and Hosiery Factories’ Employees Union, represented by Mr B. Cahill. It was opposed by the New Zealand Woollen Millowners’ Association, represented by Mr S. G. Stephenson. The Commissioner of Apprenticeship! (Mr H. C. McQueen) also appeared.
