FREE KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION
CHRISTCHURCH COUNCIL It was reported at the monthly meeting of the council of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten iAssociation that tenders had been let for building the new Cashmere Kindergarten, which would be ready for occupation in February, 1956. Members of the executive have each “adopted” two or three kindergartens this year so that liaison between local committees and. the association can be improved. Miss I. Wilkie, principal of the Kindergarten Training Centre, reported that kindergartens had reopened with excellent attendances. Thanks were expressed to voluntary workers who had repaired and renewed equipment at several kindergartens during the holidays. Mesdames C. O. Mathias and N. L. Samson were appointed the association’s delegates to the National Council of Women. The appointments to the staff of Mesdames J. M. Dixie and M. A McDonald and Miss L. Wright were confirmed. Mrs F. E. Burrell presided.
