Speedway Mishap.—Ronnie Moore, the Now Zealand-born world speedway champion, was deprived of the maximum score in a national league match at Wimbledon as the result of an unusual heat mishap. The track attendant was still screwing on the cap of the tank of Moore’s machine when the tapes flew up. The rest of the field went off, leaving Moore at the gate. The steward failed to call for a restart. Moore went on to win his other races for a total of 12 points, the highest individual score in Wimbledon’s total of 59 against Bradford’s 37. —London, May 25.
