ALLEGED NUISANCE IN AUCKLAND

• INQUIRY COMMISSION APPOINTED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 26. The appointment of a commission to inquire into and report on certain conditions in the southern Auckland metropolitan area was gazetted tonight. The Gazette notice says that, as allegations have been made that conditions causing damage to property and ill-health exist from time to time in the atmosphere of the boroughs of Otahuhu, Onehunga, One Tree Hill, and - Mount Wellington, and the Mangere riding of Manukau county, it has been decided that inquiries should be made whether such conditions do exist, and if so, what remedies are necessary. , . The members of the commission are Mr S. M. Macalister, a barrister, of Auckland (chairman); Mr D. F. S. Wunsch, a chemical engineer, of New Plymouth; and Mr F. S. Dyson, a civil engineer, of Auckland. The commission is to report by August 15, 1955.
