GRANTS FOR PAPANUI HIGH SCHOOL

Advice that the Education Department had approved a grant of £37 7s 9d for biology equipment for the Papanui High School, was received at a meeting of the school board of governors yesterday.

This amount does not cover an application by the board for a halfskeleton and a binocular microscope. “Apparently you buy these things out of the school incidental fund if you want them,” said the principal (Mr L. B. Newton).

A further grant of £55 for sealing an area at the end of the school workshop has also been approved.
