INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
CONVENTION PLANNED FOR AUGUST
The New Zealand convention on international relations to be held in Christchurch will open on August 27 at Canterbury University College and continue until the end of the month.
The organising committee is headed by Dr. T. H. Scott, who returned to the college from Canada a few months ago, and Mrs F. O. Bennett is secretary. Although it is widely representative. the members are not official delegates of bodies to which they may belong, and the invitations to be issued throughout the Dominion similarly will not call for nominated representatives, but for individuals interested in easing world tensions. -
About 200 persons attended the first such New Zealand convention in Auckland last year. Speakers will be invited from various parts of New Zealand, and efforts, are being made to secure others from Australia, India. Burma, and possibly Indonesia. The discussions will aim at producing findings for consideration by other study groups.
