TEMUKA (From Our Own Correspondent.) TEMUKA, May 24. il . There was a ver y sluggish demand for the 160 head of fat cattle yarded at Temuka yesterday, and the same could be said for the store cattle offering. Two and a half races of fat sheep and 2000 fat lambs met a keen inquiry from butchers and exporters, with values for fat ewes appreciating fully 5s a head. The inquiry was also firm for the store sheep offering, made up for the most part of tail-end lots. Values were:— Fat Cattle.—Fat steers, good £35 to £42 12s 6d, medium £2B to £34 17s 6d, light £22 to £27; fat heifers, good £2B to £33 12s 6d, medium £24 to £27 17s 6d, light £2O to £23 17s 6d; fat cows good £2O to £24 17s 6d, medium £l5 to £l9, light £8 to £l3. Dairy Cattle.—Springing cows, £l9 to £25 10s. Fat Sheep and Lambs.—Fat lambs, good 67s to 72s lOd, medium 63s to 66s lOd, light 59s Id to 62s Id; fat wethers, good 75s to 79s lOd, medium 70s to 74s lOd, light 65s to 69s 10d; fat ewes, extra prime maiden 45s to 50s Id, good 38s to 445, medium 31s to 34s lOd, light 26s to 30s. Store Sheep.—Wether hoggets, 45s to 54s 6d; ewe lambs, 42s to 66s 6d; rape ewes, 15s to 245. ASHBURTON With a larger yarding than last week, prices for fat wethers were down about 3s a head and ewes prices were firm, at the Ashburton stock sale yesterday. Towards the end of the store sale lamb prices also showed a fall on last week’s rates. Fat wethers sold up to 69s for medium quality, to 83s for prime, and up to 87s Id for extra prime lambs. Fat ewes realised up to 30s for lightweights, to 36s for medium, and up to 45s for prime ewes. Fat lambs made up to 75s Id. In the store section wether lambs made up to 61s 6d. and two-tooth ewes up to 67s 6d. A small pen of ewe lambs sold at 50s. ,
