Sir,—-Of recent date in this paper the Canterbury Rugby League centre showed concern over the loss of players from the code, from school boys upwards. In my humble opinion it may supply one of the answers that a representative team has been ' picked to play on a date to come. In this team are two Rugby Union converts, who appear to be second strings in their own code. Yet, after ( a few games in our code, they are picked to represent Canterbury. Whether they are good on bad means nothing. When a player has moved through the grades and this happens no wonder he loses interest. On this principle the League code may well consist of second grade Rugby playqrs and better, looking for an overseas tour. Let us look at a previous tour bf England.—Yours, etc., GRANDSTAND CRITIC.
