DISARMAMENT TALKS
Need For “Change Of Mind” By Soviet
(Rec. 8.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, May 21. A change of mind in the highest levels of. the Soviet Government will be required to smooth the . way to further agreement on ’ disarmament, Mr James Wadsworth, the United States delegate, said on his return from the Five-Power private disarmament talks in London.
The talks were recessed to study the latest Soviet proposals and are due to resume about June 1 in New York.
Mr Wadsworth said that a decision by the proposed Big Four meeting “at the summit” might be required; to allow any further progress to be made.
