ACCIDENTS

WOMAN KILLED BY CAR (New Zealand Press Association) ROTORUA, April 22. A woman was killed at the Utuhina bridge, on Lake road, Rotorua, at 8 p.m. today, when she was struck by a car. She was: Maria Weri-Hemopo, aged 65, a widow, of Lake road. It was raining at the time. Mrs Weri-Hemopo had her spine and both legs broken.

BUS AND BICYCLE COLLIDE

A cyclist was injured in a collision with a Transport Board bus at the corner of Antigua street and Fairfield avenue yesterday afternoon. She is Miss Natalie Hartshorn, of 136 Antigua street, who was taken to the Christehurch Hospital by ambulance and admitted at 3 p.m. Her condition last evening was reported to be satisfactory.

CYCLIST SERIOUSLY INJURED

Serious injuries were suffered by an elderly cyclist when he was involved in a collision with a motor-car at the intersection of Barbadoes and Gloucester streets yesterday morning. He is Mr James William Smith, of 223 River road, who was unconscious when he was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital at 9.45 a.m. Late last evening Mr Smith was still unconscious. His condition was reported to be serious.
