Award To Mr R. M. Allison
LINCOLN BIOCHEMIST HONOURED
The University of Wisconsin has advised “The Press” that its doctorate in philosophy has been awarded to Mr Russell M. Allison, biochemist at the Crop Research Division of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research at Lincoln. Dr. Allison has been in the United States for two years, studying under a Rockefeller Research Scholarship and a Fulbright travelling bursary. After graduating from Canterbury University College about 10 years ago. Dr. Allison took a master of science degree, and then worked for a short time at the Wheat Research Institute in Christchurch.
After joining the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, he was appointed to the Government Analyst’s office in Auckland, and about six years ago transferred to the Plant Chemistry Laboratory at Palmerston North. About five years ago he took up an appointment at Lincoln.
