T, F ! re Institution.—Mr T. A. Varley, Chief Fire Service Officer in New Zealand, was this week installed in office as president of the New Zealand branch of the Institution of Fire Engineers. He was for three years president of the parent institution in Britain, Members of the council for 1955 are, besides Mr Varley, Messrs R. Preston, H. Bruce, S. B. Irvine, H. G. Hume, and T. Crafer.—(P.A.).
