OBITUARY

MR J. D. EDMONDS

Mr J. D. Edmonds, a well known Sumner resident died in Christchurch last Friday at the age of 67. He was the youngest son of the late Mr T. J. Edmonds and was associated with the firm of T. J. Edmonds, Ltd., all his life.

Mr Edmonds was a leading shot among miniature rifle enthusiasts in New Zealand and was a foundation member of the Sumner-Redcliffs Miniature Rifle Club. He was also a member of the Sumner Rowin 7 Club and of the Sumner Bowling Club. Mr Edmonds was also known for his reserved and generous nature. He was formerly a member of Derry’s Band and was recently elected patron of the Sumner Band, which played at his funeral. Mr Edmonds is survived by his widow and his only daughter, Mrs B. Philpott.
