OVERSEAS LEAGUE “The Overseas League has the reputation of being a very friendly body and we do wish to continue to deserve that description,” said Mrs J. J. Mulligan, when welcoming new members to the league yesterday morning. Mrs Mulligan said that many members had joined last year and yesterday’s informal gathering was the first opportunity the committee had had of enabling them to meet one another and to get to know older members of the league. Mr A. L Cottrell, president of the league, in adding his welcome, asked members to further the aim of the league, which was to build up friendship and goodwill among individuals and groups and form a strong and alive organisation to promote unity and peace. He explained that the league had formed several circles that would be of Interest to persons ot different tastes and he invited new members, of whom more than 40 were present, to join these circles.
