SAVILE CUP POLO TOURNAMENT

DRAW ANNOUNCED (New Zealand Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, Feb. 4. The New Zealand Polo Association’s annual Savile Cup tournament will begin on the Feilding Jockey Club’s property on Wednesday. March 9. Seven senior teams will contest the Savile Cup, and six teams have entered for the Junior Cup. Thirteen teams will compete for the Handicap Cup. The president of the association (Mr R. D. McKelvie) today announced the draw for the Savile Cup as follows:—Morrinsville v. Glen Murray; Rangitikei A v. Cambridge; Hawke’s Bay v. Kihikihi; Taupiri a bye. The marches will be played in the order of the draw, beginning at 12.50 p.m. , „ The Junior Cup draw is as follows.— Clevedon v. Matangi; Rangitikei B v. Waimai; Rangitikei C and Kihikihi B byes. The first match will start at 9.30 a.m. It is expected that the finals of the Savile and Junior Cup contests will be reached on the Saturday afternoon. The Handicap Cup competition will continue into the next week.
