1955 CONFERENCE OF I.L.O.

SIX REPRESENTATIVES FROM DOMINION

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 20. The Cabinet has approved New Zealand representation at this year’s conference of the International Labour Organisation, to be held at Geneva in June. The Dominion will send two Government delegates, two employers’ representatives, and two workers’ representatives (a delegate and an adviser in each case). This year’s agenda comprises a number of items of considerable interest to this country. These, include the vocational rehabilitation of the disabled, vocational training in agriculture, and welfare facilities for workers. Other items on the agenda, apart from the formal recurring ones, are penal sanctions for breaches of contract of employment, and migrant workers from underdeveloped countries.
