North Canterbury Demand for Power.— The North Canterbury Electric Power Board supplied 55 new consumers last month. This was the highest number in a single month for many years, although December is always a peak month for new connexions because of tha number of seaside cottages and baches first occupied then. In spite of heavy power restrictions for most of the last quarter of 1954, consumption in the board’s area increased by 310,078 units, or 3.4 per cent.
