OBITUARY
MR C. DOUGLAS
(New Zealand Press Association) January 20. The death occurred suddenly at his home in Napier yesterday of Mr Charles Douglas, aged 82. Mr Douglas was secretary'of the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society for many years, and later president. He was a former general manager of the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ Cooperative Association, Ltd.
Mr Douglas took a leading part in the purchase of the A. and P. Society showgrounds at Tomoana in 1911, and was among the first advocates of the east coast railway line.
MR G. T. GRACE
A former Town Clerk of Greymouth, Mr G. T. Grace, has died at New Plymouth, aged 83. He was born at Skippers, Otago.
Mr Grace entered the clerical division oi the Public Works at Wellington in 189®. and was engaged on the Main Trunk survey. He transferred to Greymouth, where he left the Public Service to become Town Clerk. He was also secretary of the Greymouth Pacing Club. Returning north, Mr Grace was assistant accountant to the New Plymouth Borough Council until his retirement
